It was an honour to be asked by Tom, Site Manager at Galliford Try to assist him with his dissertation for a Construction Management Degree.
His chosen subject to do his dissertation on was Passive Fire Protection, and as Pyrotect have worked on a number of sites for Tom, including Paradise Street Coventry (fire stopping, acoustic sealing and cavity barriers) and Project Angel Northampton (Firestopping, air sealing, acoustic sealing and under raised access floor barriers), he knew that we were as keen as he was, to raise the profile on passive fire protection to main contractors and across the industry in general.
He spent time talking to our Managing Director Chris Goodison and the Contracts team, including our Senior Contracts Manager Gavin Fieldsend. He looked at how we ensure a quality installation on site through robust procedures and checks. We showed him how we ensure that our operatives are kept up to date on the correct installation of fire stopping through our training wall and how works are recorded and checked by our quality manager Gary Turnbull both on site and through our online booking system.
